A-STAR Team Attends the 2026 AI Research Summit

The A-STAR team attended the 2026 AI Research Summit to share ongoing work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, surgical outcomes, and translational clinical research.

Reza Shahriarirad, M.D. presented three posters during the meeting, including a study evaluating improvement in biological age following bariatric surgery using AI-derived biomarkers.

The presentations reflect A-STAR's broader effort to apply artificial intelligence to clinically meaningful questions in surgery, spanning risk modeling, physiologic recovery, patient-centered outcomes, and responsible validation.
